Phoenix Suns star Steve Nash will host his charity event, Showdown in Downtown on September 19.

The event will be held at David Lam Park in Vancouver and will feature an eight-a-side charity match involving Vancouver Whitecaps (USL First Division) players along with NBA and international soccer stars.

Nash grew up playing soccer in Victoria and is a minority shareholder in Vancouver's 2011 expansion entry to Major League Soccer. His younger brother Martin is the USL Whitecaps' captain.

The line-up for the Showdown in Downtown, to benefit the Steve Nash Foundation, is expected to be announced Wednesday.
