Blackpool striker Kevin Phillips believes that Robbie Fowler would be a great signing by the club.

The former Liverpool star is training with the Seasiders ahead of a potential move to Bloomfield Road and Phillips has suggested he would relish playing up front with his former England teammate who would provide so much for the club's younger players.

"It's been great to see Robbie training with the club," Phillips told Blackpool's official website.

"I know him from our England days and he looked fit and sharp and ready to help us.

"He's one of the best strikers the country has produced in modern times and would be a great signing for the club."
