Sunderland fans have narrowed their interest in their next manager to former striker Kevin Phillips.
The Black Cats found themselves relegated to League One after a shambolic season in the Championship.
The club has now changed ownership, with new owner Stewart Donald set to make decisions.
The owner is believed to be interested in installing Phillips, claims The Sun. He knows that it is a great way to get the fans onside with the new regime.
Phillips is currently coaching at Derby, but would not have an issue being released if his former club came calling.
