Released Crystal Palace striker Kevin Phillips feels Wayne Rooney should leave Manchester United for Chelsea.
Rooney is again attracting interest from Chelsea this month.
Phillips, who recently left Crystal Palace when his contract expired, told talkSPORT: "He has been at the club a long time, these rumours keep surfacing, and there has got to be something in it, so maybe the summer is the right time for Wayne Rooney to move on and start a new chapter in his career.
"He has had a fantastic time at Man United but I think, deep down, Wayne wants to leave the football club and Chelsea would be a good fit."
