Philadelphia Union have officially signed defender Joe Tait from USL club Dayton Dutch Lions.

The 21-year old Englishman has joined the MLS outfit after initially arriving in late August on trial and has now been added to the Union's senior roster.

Tait was named the Professional Development League defender of the year in 2010 whilst with Baton Rouge Capitals before moving up to the USL Pro Division with Dayton.
