Philadelphia Union's Okugo set for European adventure

Philadelphia Union are expecting Amobi Okugo to try his luck in Europe next year.

The versatile 23-year old, who can be deployed in midfield and central defence, is out of contract with the MLS club and it is being reported that he could make a move to a league in Europe in the off-season.

When asked about that possibility, Union boss Jim Curtin told MLSsoccer.com that he feels Okugo will depart PPL Park after joining Philly in their inaugural season in 2010.

"I've talked to him for several years that when you're young is the time to try something like that," Curtin said.

"We're pretty confident he's going to take that option."

Of Okugo's possible exit, Curtin added: "I recognize he's a very popular guy.

"He's a popular guy in our locker room and he's an important part to our team, as well.

"We'll see how it goes. We'll see if he's back. There is some unknown there."
