Philadelphia Union head coach Peter Nowak has admitted that he was not sure how the future was going to pan out with Danny Mwanga.
The Union traded the number one selection in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft to Portland Timbers during the week, in exchange for Colombian striker Jorge Perlaza, with Nowak suggesting that the DR Congo-born 20-year old has a limited future in Philly.
"Of course, we wished this thing was going to work the other way. But that's the reality we are in.
"The most important thing is looking at the technical side and to make sure the team will progress and things will get better."
He added: "Danny Mwanga was good with the ball at his feet and was good to draw defenders but it was difficult for him to stretch the field. And I think with Jorge right now, we have someone who can stretch the field and can make bigger and better runs off of (fellow Colombian Lionard) Pajoy.""For the future, we didn't know how it was going to play out," said Nowak.
