Philadelphia Union's Miglioranzi gains US citizenship

Philadelphia Union midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi has become a US citizen.

The 33-year old Brazilian-born former Portsmouth man has been in the USA as a professional player since 2006 and has now been naturalized, taking him off the Union's international roster.

Miglioranzi moved to the US with his family when he was 12 and attended university at St John's in New York before moving abroad to pursue his playing career.

First stop was with Pompey before moving on to Swindon Town, where he spent about four years, before moving back to the States to join MLS club LA Galaxy in 2006.

Since then, he has spent two seasons with Columbus Crew, another one back at the Galaxy, before joining the Union last at the start of the 2010 season.
