Philadelphia Union's Hackworth to discuss Adu future

John Hackworth has revealed he will sit down with Freddy Adu to discuss the players future at Philadelphia Union.

The 23-year old started just 20 of the Union's 34 MLS fixtures (for a total of 24 appearances) during the 2012 regular season, which was completed on the weekend, and Hackworth has confirmed that there will be serious talks.

"Me and Freddy have a long history," said Hackworth, who coached Adu when he was a teenager.

"Despite what people think, we're pretty close, too. I want what's best for Freddy. I expect a lot out of him. He expects a lot out of himself.

"We'll have a heart-to-heart talk and see what's best for both of us."
