Freddy Adu is set to spend a few weeks training with Spanish La Liga club Rayo Vallecano during the MLS off-season.
The 22-year old Philadelphia Union forward will head to Madrid for a couple of weeks to maintain his fitness over winter and his agent, Richard Motzkin, feels it is a great opportunity to further his development in a European environment.
"The Union's interested that the player trains this winter in Spain. It is a good opportunity for Freddy to grow," Motzkin told the Rayo Herald.
Adu returned to MLS during the 2011 season after a four-year stint in Europe with the likes of Benfica, AS Monaco, Belenenses, Aris Thessaloniki and Caykur Rizespor.
