Freddy Adu is looking to produce some influential performances for Philadelphia Union in the play-offs.
The second-year MLS club meet Houston Dynamo in the Conference semi-finals, with the first leg taking place at PPL Park on Saturday, and Adu is confident that he can help Union's attacking style prove a hit in the finals.
"One of my strengths is breaking down players, going one-on-one, and creating space for my teammates," Adu said. "I think that will be our mentality going in the playoffs."
But he is also aware that he may have to deal a bit-part role after starting three of the past five games as a substitute.
"As a player, I have to be prepared for starting or coming off the bench," Adu added. "It depends on the direction the coach wants to take for the game."
And Union assistant John Hackworth also feels that Adu's ability to unlock defences could be a major benefit to Phillie in the coming matches.
"Freddy is a difference maker, and he has to be able to do that for us in order for us to be successful in the playoffs," he said.
