Philadelphia Union have announced that they have waived Tanzanian midfielder Nizar Khalfan.
The 23-year old former Vancouver Whitecaps man was taken by the Union in the Waiver Draft in November but his services have been deemed surplus to requirements at PPL Park.
Khalfan made 22 appearances for the Whitecaps last season but the Canadian club released him at the end of the 2011 campaign and now he is on the lookout for another new club after the Union let him go.
