Philadelphia Union release Myrie

MLS expansion franchise Philadelphia Union have released defender David Myrie after just one game.

The 21-year old started in the club's first official league match in the season opening loss to Seattle Sounders on Thursday, playing 78 minutes, but the Union have decided to release him.

The Costa Rican was acquired by the Union in the 2009 Expansion Draft from Chicago Fire but obviously things haven't worked out.
