Philadelphia Union confirm interest in Bolton defender Knight

Philadelphia Union head coach John Hackworth has confirmed that the club is indeed interested in Zat Knight.

Reports materialized on Monday that the Bolton defender had emerged on the radar of the MLS club which prompted Trotters boss Dougie Freedman to play down the rumours.

However, Hackworth has established that the Union are in pursuit of the 33-year old former Fulham and Aston Villa centre-back.

"Truthfully, we have been in some conversations [with Knight]," Hackworth said on a conference call Tuesday.

"But at the same time, we are looking at a lot of different countries and have vetted out many different centre-back options."
