New MLS outfit Philadelphia Union have experienced a slow start to their debut season and it has been goalkeeper Chris Seitz who has copped most of the flack.
The 23-year old has made a few mistakes along the way as the Union have slumped to four consecutive losses but his coach, Peter Nowak, and a former teammate knows he is a quality gloveman and have backed him to come out of this current poor form.
"We all need time to approach the game in the right fashion and time to get familiar with each other," said Union Manager Peter. "Because of the National Team and the Olympic Team, we [Seitz and I] know what to expect from each other. He has a great work ethic and he is eager to play every weekend and I appreciate the effort that he is making."
Real Salt Lake midfielder Kyle Beckerman, who scored past Seitz in their 3-0 win on the weekend, gave some encouragement to his former teammate who he shares an MLS Cup win with.
"We all respect him as a goalkeeper," Beckerman said. "We think he's a good one and we know he is. He's having a tough time but he's going to grow. It's really his first season of playing fully, so he's kind of like a rookie and they all hit bumps in the road, but he'll be fine."
