Josh Harris, of Apollo Global Management, is set to take over at Crystal Palace according to reports.
The American private equity investor, who owns NBA franchise Philadelphia 76ers and NHL side New Jersey Devils, is in talks with Eagles officials regarding the potential purchase of the south London club.
Sal Galitioto, of Galitioto Sports Partners, is well-versed to comment on Harris as he helped with the purchase of the 76ers in 2011 and suggests he will be a success at Selhurst Park.
"Josh obviously knows how to run pro sports franchises," he told Bloomberg.
"It's a very interesting investment that should be a very good one for him over the long run.
"English Premier League soccer is arguably the best soccer in the world and it's very valuable media content. It's growing in other parts of the world, especially North America."
It is believed that current co-chairman Steve Parish will be kept on to run the club after Harris' proposed takeover.
