Hull City manager Mike Phelan is trying to lure former Manchester United coach Tony Coton to join him as an assistant at the Premier League side.
Coton is a former colleague of Phelan when he was a goalkeeping coach at United while the Tigers boss served as an assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson.
The 55-year-old, who worked for nine years at United, is currently working at Championship club Aston Villa and could be tempted by the prospect of returning to Premier League.
However, Villa manager and ex-Hull boss Steve Bruce reportedly is not keen on allowing Coton to leave his current position.
