Stiliyan Petrov is proud of his first season as Aston Villa captain.
Despite the disappointment of defeat by Manchester United, he can look forward to stepping out at Wembley for a second time in this month's FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
"It's a great honour to be captain, something I'm really proud of," Petrov told Villa's website. "When you're captain, you have a lot more responsibility, both on and off the pitch. It's a big thing, because you're the leader of the team, and that can also mean a lot of pressure. It's a challenge, but I love challenges. I don't run away from responsibilities.
"To lead the team out at Wembley was a very special moment. It was a great feeling, and I hope there will be more moments like that over the next few years. No matter how long you play, you can't always get to finals, so you have to savour the experience.
"I'm pleased with the way things have gone this season. We've been in one cup final, we're in the semi-final of another, and we're still in contention for a place in the top four."
