Stiliyan Petrov isn't panicking over a lack of progress surrounding his new Aston Villa contract.

"The club knows what direction they want to go", he said. "Would I push for talks? No. My job is here, I still have two years to go.

"There's no surprise about that (lack of movement) - the club has got a lot of things to deal with. Another five or six players have signed new deals.

"There's a lot of negotiation going on at the moment. I'm not really bothered about it."
