Bulgarian legend Stiliyan Petrov is convinced Aleksandar Tonev will make a big impact with Aston Villa.
Petrov says he expects big things of Tonev and believes a goal - potentially against Southampton - could spark him up.
He told avfc.co.uk: "I know how hard it is for him. He is trying hard. He has come from a lower league. He definitely has ability.
"He can develop and become a very good player for Villa. It will come.
"When he scores his first goal, everything will become easier. He just needs that goal. He will get it.
"He works hard. He is getting more conversational in English. It's not easy, it's tough. But he has to keep going."
