New York Red Bulls interim coach Mike Petke stands by their selection of Ian Christianson in the MLS SuperDraft.
The defensive midfielder led Georgetown to the College Cup finals.
"Look, we had the 22nd pick. We had a long list of players we thought wouldn't last, and a short list of players we hoped would fall through. He was on that short list,'' said Petke.
"I look at the little things, especially with the 22nd pick. You're not just looking at him on the field playing: You're looking at his body type. He's a physical guy. He's a tall guy. He'll sit in there and get stuck in."
