Peterborough want to keep Birmingham, Wolves target McLean

Peterborough United chief Barry Fry doesn't want to lose striker Aaron McLean.

McLean has been linked with Fry's former club Birmingham City and also Wolves.

He told skysports.com: "There have been a few enquiries regarding Aaron, but nobody has put any money on the table for him, so he remains a Peterborough player and continues to be on the transfer list at his request.

"He has got two-and-a-half-years left on his contract, so it happens then it happens, but we definitely won't be instigating any move for him because we'd rather keep hold of him.

"We turned down a £3million deal from Wolves for him last season, so we would have to be talking about figures above that for him since he scored vital goals to get us promoted last season.

"If someone comes in with a reasonable offer then we will consider Aaron's plea to leave, but I can't accept or reject offers if they don't come in for him."
