Director of football Barry Fry says Peterborough will break their transfer record when Ryan Bennett completes his permanent move from Grimsby. The 19-year-old will sign on full-time on Friday for a fee greater than the £400,000 paid to Norwich for goalkeeper Joe Lewis two years ago.
Fry told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph: "Ryan's deal goes through on Friday.
"It is a record transfer for the club and there are also sorts of add-ons in there as well - things like helping Posh into the Premier League and him going on to play for England.
"If everything in the deal were to happen it could cost us £1million."
