Peterborough in the money with non-league player sales

Peterborough have revealed that they have made over £1million from selling players signed from non-league within the last six months. Millwall signed Shaun Batt on Tuesday for a fee of £300,000 while Posh have confirmed that Preston paid £350,000 for Paul Coutts in January.

Alfie Potter has moved to Oxford for £50,000 while Posh recouped £350,000 from Nottingham Forest for the three-month loan of winger George Boyd.

Director of football Barry Fry said: "It has been a very successful period.

"Over the last three years the chairman has turned down offers of over £6million for George Boyd, Craig Mackail-Smith and Aaron Mclean which shows his passion and commitment and his desire not to sell his best players.

"There is no doubt that the club's policy of investing in hungry players from non league has paid off handsomely and we will continue with it."
