Peterborough confirm deal for Man Utd pair Wootton, Tunnicliffe

Peterborough United have confirmed the signing of Manchester United pair Ryan Tunnicliffe and Scott Wootton for undisclosed loans.

Midfielder Tunnicliffe, 18, and 19-year-old defender Wootton have yet to make their first-team United debuts.

Wootton, who switched to the Red Devils from the Liverpool academy in 2007, played nine times during a loan spell at Tranmere last season.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony confirmed the deals on Twitter, saying: "Gaffer just told me two United lads signed on loan, Tunnicliffe & Wooton signed up."

Ferguson took a number of United players on loan during his time as Preston boss.
