Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson stopped his players from swapping shirts with their Manchester United opponents at the end of yesterday's 3-1 friendly defeat.

Posh scorer Rene Howe had managed to swap shirts with Owen Hargreaves but the Peterborough coach took it off him and returned it to United.

Howe said: "I had my hands on it but the gaffer told me the shirt had to go back."
