Peter Vint leaves academy job at Everton

Peter Vint has left his academy job at Everton.

The Daily Mail says Everton have parted company with academy chief Peter Vint after the former US Olympic guru spent less than 16 months in the role.

In a December 2015 move described by then boss Roberto Martinez as 'pioneering' the Toffees turned to Dr Vint, who had no background in football, to spearhead their youth operation.

However, the Colorado-based academic – whose son is set to sign for Manchester United - has now been shown the door by Goodison Park officials.

The club say that Vint has left to 'pursue other interests' but it's understood there were fundamental differences between the American and other members of staff.
