Pescara have sacked coach Cristiano Bergodi.

He was shown the door after yesterday's defeat to Udinese.

Pescara released a statement in the evening confirming Bergodi had been removed from his post, but was thanked "for his effort and passion.

"The club will announce the name of his successor over the next 24 hours."

Bergodi was only brought in after Giovanni Stroppa resigned on November 20.
