Angelo Peruzzi has ruled out making a comeback with Lazio.

Peruzzi was quoted yesterday stating he'd come out of retirement to help his former club, but insisted last night: "Since the moment I made the agonising decision to quit football I have never reconsidered.

"It's human nature that after 20 years of great satisfaction I feel nostalgia for that world, but my comments on Tuesday were just an expression of my love for Lazio and the fans.

"I never wanted to unsettle the squad and I can confirm that I have hung my boots up once and for all."
