Angelo Peruzzi is ready to quit retirement and answer an SOS from Lazio.

With Argentine signing Juan Pablo Carrizo having his application for an Italian passport rejected, Lazio are in crisis with no genuine first-choice keeper available for the new season.

Peruzzi chose to retire at the end of last season, despite receiving a new contract offer from Lazio president Claudio Lotito. But now he says: "I am ready to return to Lazio. If they call me, I'll answer."

Meanwhile, Carrizo's search for a European passport could take him to Germany.
