Perth youngster Neville joins injury list

Perth Glory youngster Scott Neville is the latest player to join the club's casualty list.

The 20-year old faces a race against time to be fit for Friday's season opener against Adelaide United after injuring his foot in training.

"He's got a bit of a knock and we're looking at it," Glory coach Dave Mitchell said.

"It was quite painful but we're addressing it now and hopefully he'll come through it."

Neville joins Jamie Harnwell, Wayne Srhoj, Jimmy Downey and Anthony Skorich on the injury list but it is understood his problem is not as severe as the others meaning he could still play.

Mitchell said he was frustrated by the amount of players he has seen get injured this pre-season but was remaining positive.

"It's been frustrating because we haven't had all the boys in from day one and when they have come in some of them have had knocks," Mitchell added.

"It's unfortunate but we've just got to get on with it."

Perth take on last season's runners-up, Adelaide United in Round 1 of A-League season 2009/10 at Hindmarsh Stadium on Friday August 7.
