Perth Glory managed a win in their first pre-season match, defeating Inglewood United 1-0.
The Glory decided to rest many senior players including new signing Branko Jelic whilst Mile Sterjovski and Jacob Burns are on international duty with the Socceroos.
Without the attacking duo, youth team graduate Andrija Jukic impressed with the only goal in the first half.
Assistant coach Kenny Lowe, who stood in for Dave Mitchell, was pleased with the performances of the younger players in the group.
"We will be heavily reliant on young players and we have to be careful we don't overload them," Lowe said.
"But there's a good vibe about the place. It's very well organised, players seem happy and there's a lot of quality to come in."
