Perth Glory defender Chris Coyne is close to a move to China's Liaoning Hongyun reports suggest.

The 31-year old is keen to push for selection for Australia's World Cup squad and wants to remain playing throughout the next few months to keep form and fitness at a premium level.

Coyne's proposed move to Shandong Luneng fell through recently but their new Chinese Super League rivals Liaoning are close to agreeing a deal claim reports in China.
