Perth Glory to play Everton in Australia

English Premier League club Everton could play a pre-season friendly against Perth Glory in Australia. The Toffees and the Glory are in advanced stages of organising a match but Everton officials have expressed their desire to hold a second match which the Glory now need to organise.

Glory owner Tony Sage said there was plenty of communication between the two clubs.

"We're hopeful it will (happen)," said Sage.

"We met every term Everton put to us, so we've signed on to the deal, subject to them getting another game.

"We had a couple of emails today and again, the sticking point seems to be the teams on the eastern side of Australia.

"It's not financially viable for Everton to come just to Perth. They made that clear to everyone, so we're just waiting on that fixture to be set up."

The games are proposed to be before the next Premier League season which will kick-off in August and if the deal was to go ahead, it would bring Socceroos star Tim Cahill to Australian soil with his club for the first time.
