Perth Glory owner Tony Sage is risking his finances in a bid to make the club more successful.
The mining entrepreneur has committed the entire $2.1 million salary cap to bringing in new players and has already secured the signatures of four players.
Socceroo Mile Sterjovski, former Derby County defender Andy Todd, Jacob Burns and Branko Jelic have been brought in to the Glory squad and the club is still in pursuit of Colchester United skipper Chris Coyne.
Sage said the financial commitment is a risk but sees a bright future for football in the western state.
"It's a huge risk financially but I think soccer will dominate the airwaves over the next 12 to 18 months with Australia in the World Cup and us performing really well on the park," Sage said.
"The risk is that the fans are apathetic. If the game doesn't make it in this State in the next 12 to 18 months it never will."
