Perth Glory open to ex-Man Utd star Beckham

Perth Glory have said they would be open to the possibility of David Beckham joining them in the A-League.

The LA Galaxy star is being heavily linked with a short-term guest stint in Australia's domestic competition and the Glory have already opened their doors to his potential arrival although a statement form chief executive Paul Kelly has cooled talk of any deal actually being done.

"We are always happy to speak to players of the calibre of David Beckham, who would be great for the Hyundai A-League as illustrated by the effect of Alessandro Del Piero, Emile Heskey and Shinji Ono," Kelly said.

"At the end of the day it's the coach, Ian Ferguson who makes these decisions and we as a club, have a process that we follow when recruiting players.

"But we would be mad not to seriously consider David Beckham."
