Early on, Perth were threatening with plenty of forward movement, mainly sparked by Naum Sekulovski as Newcastle struggled to keep up with the home side.
The Glory then found themselves having to keep out the visitors, not allowing them to get forward easily but in the 24th minute, the home side went ahead when Branko Jelic played Wayne Srhoj through.
The midfielder was able to knock the ball in front of him with great control and finish coolly past Jets keeper Ben Kennedy to give his team the advantage.
Midway through the first half, the rain arrived to make conditions slightly difficult for both sides but the standard of play did not suffer too much as the Glory continued to surge forward.
In the 72nd minute, the Glory constructed a brilliant team goal with a build up of one-touch passes that ended with a wonderful half-volley from Adriano Pellegrino after a inch-perfect Sekulovski cross to make it 2-0.
Six minutes later, Glory second gamer Matthew Mayora could not take advantage of a glancing Mile Sterjovski header when he missed a clear shot that would have wrapped up proceedings.
However, it didn't have any effect on the outcome as the Glory were able to grab their first points of the season.
