Perth Glory keen on Rukavytsya return

Perth Glory are lining up a return for former striker Nikita Rukavytsya.

The 22-year old is currently enjoying a stint in the Dutch Eredivisie with FC Twente Enschede but the Glory want him back on a loan deal if current marquee striker Mile Sterjovski is forced to play elsewhere.

Sterjovski may have to be loaned out to either Adelaide United or Melbourne Victory, who will be competing in next season’s Asian Champions League, in a bid to keep his match fitness up prior to the 2010 World Cup and if he does leave, Rukavytsya could be the man to replace him for the A-League finals.

Glory coach Dave Mitchell has been investigating his club’s options if Sterjovski was to go out on loan and the fact Rukavtysya is keen to come back and get some regular first team game time makes the deal a strong possibility.
