Perth Glory fans to be treated in July

Perth Glory fans will be treated to plethora of football action in July, ahead of the 2009/10 A-League season. The Glory are set to play pre-season matches against two English Premier League teams as well as new A-League club North Queensland Fury as a precursor to the upcoming season.

Club owner Tony Sage has worked hard to show fans that he is intent on rebuilding the club, beginning with a new crest and a new playing strip which will be on show when the Glory takes on newly promoted English club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

A second match against an English club is still in the pipelines with Mark Schwarzer's Fulham being touted as the other Premier League club.

Sage is still waiting on the Fury getting back to him in regards to a third pre-season clash but was confident that fans will enjoy the spectacle in July.

"If everything comes together as planned, the real soccer fans of this State will be in for a treat and I don't think we'll look back from that moment on," Sage said.

"We are going to have two Premier League teams playing in Perth in the middle of the AFL season and you can't get any bigger than that."
