Perth Glory end tenure of ex-Rangers star Ferguson

Perth Glory have ended their relationship with head coach Ian Ferguson.

The Scottish tactician and the A-League club have terminated his contract by mutual consent after falling to the bottom of the table.

"Bottom of the ladder with the squad we have assembled is unacceptable," said chairman Tony Sage today.

"He is a man of integrity and with everyone questioning his ability, he decided it was time to quit."

Ferguson, who took over at the Glory in October 2010, has recently saw the Western Australian outfit drop to the foot of the A-League standings after six defeats from their last eight outings.

He has been replaced by fellow former Rangers player Alistair Edwards who has been given two-months leave as Football Federation Australia's youth coach to take the reins for the remainder of the 2012/13 campaign.
