Shane Smeltz says it as honour to be selected for New Zealand's Olympic squad for this summer's London Games.
The Perth Glory striker will be selected as one of three players over the age of 23 in the Oly Whites squad and is excited about representing his nation at the Olympics.
"To represent New Zealand on any occasion is an honour but the Olympic Games will be something special.
"To be part of a tournament that features the best of the best from every sport will be a highlight.""I'm buzzing to be honest," Smeltz said.
New Zealand have been drawn in the same group as Belarus, Egypt and Brazil in Group C of the finals which sees 16 teams compete at Old Trafford in Manchester, City of Coventry Stadium in Coventry, Sports Direct Arena in Newcastle, the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and Wembley in London.
