Roberto Pereyra has praised the team spirit and effort from Watford as they managed a 2-0 win against Brighton on opening day.

Watford were the better team throughout, with Pereyra grabbing both goals from a midfield position.

His quality was the difference between both sides, but Pereyra believes the entire team was the star of the show.

"The whole team played very well today, as a team and as a squad. We still have a few things to improve and this is just a starting point," Pereyra said to the Watford Observer.

"Obviously it is very important to start in a good way by getting the three points and the fans were amazing today. They were fantastic and helped us get the three points."
