Pepe insists there's no envy with Real Madrid defensive partner Fabio Cannavaro over their pay-packets.

Cannavaro earns almost double Pepe's wages, but the former Porto defender insists they're good friends: "Fabio and I talk a lot. We both come from the same school. He has a culture characteristic of Italy and I also had an Italian trainer from whom I learned much: Gigi del Neri.

"He liked to work with the central defenders and I have spoken a lot with Fabio about him."
