Pepe has backed Real Madrid's pursuit for Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo.

"If he (Ronaldo) is going to Real Madrid, he will be warmly welcomed, like I have been," Pepe told reporters from Portugal's training camp.

"He knows where his future lies. For the moment, he is my team-mate in the selection.

"I would prefer to have him at Real because it is better to have him with you than against you."
