Pennant: Stoke boss Pulis getting best out of me

Jermaine Pennant says Stoke City boss Tony Pulis is bringing out the best in him.

The on-loan Real Zaragoza has made no secret of his hope of signing permanently with the Potters.

He told The Sentinel: "I'm enjoying myself and the way things are going here. If the two clubs can agree something in January then I'll be more than happy to put pen to paper.

"The manager has given me that platform to go and do what I can do.

"He's told me he wants workrate off his wingers. He says they work harder than at any club in the league - and they definitely do!

"If I can do that to help out the team, then brilliant."

Pennant has quickly become a crowd favourite. In return, he says he loves playing at the Britannia, especially in front of the sort of passionate atmosphere which carried Stoke to victory over Liverpool.

He said: "I love it. When the crowd gets going here it's brilliant. It makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck.

"That's what every professional loves about the atmosphere in football. The way the supporters carried on and celebrated was magnificent."
