Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant has approached Real Zaragoza about bringing forward plans to sign permanently with the Potters.

The winger is on loan at the Britannia Stadium but still picks up a reputed £80,000 a week from the Spanish club.

Stoke manager Tony Pulis said: "He's doing a deal with Zaragoza.

"The tax situation is different here but we won't be doing anything that's outside the limits. There's a long way to go I think."
