Jermaine Pennant has sought to mend bridges with Stoke City boss Tony Pulis.
The Mail on Sunday says Pennant has privately apologised to manager Pulis in a desperate bid to save his career at the Britannia Stadium.
Pennant is due back at the club next weekend after a three-month loan spell at Wolves, where he was sent after falling out with Pulis over timekeeping offences.
The ex-Liverpool winger is contrite over his earlier behaviour and has contacted Pulis in the hope he will be given another chance.
It is unclear however if Pulis will accept the olive branch having felt let down by the winger.
