Stoke City are closing in on a deal for Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone.

The Daily Mail says Huddlestone on the verge of joining Stoke on a season-long loan deal.

Potters winger Jermaine Pennant broke the news on his Twitter account, posting: "I walked in training and got a shock saw my friend Tom Huddleston....(sic) On loan till end of season good signing."

Pennant then responded to fans' questions minutes later, tweeting: "Yes it's true he's going to have a medical later if it's all good we have got him till the end of the season."
