Pennant hoping for late chance at Stoke

Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant hopes to return to the first team after manager Tony Pulis pulled the plug on a loan move to Leeds United.

The 30-year-old, who played at Leeds on loan in the Premier League in the 2003-4 season, made 15 appearances in a loan spell at Wolves this season.

But since returning to Stoke in January he has been frozen out by Pulis, not featuring in a single first-team squad.

Pennant is out of contract at the end of the season.
