Mauricio Pellegrino is the first choice favourite for the Southampton manager's post.

The ex-Alaves manager is set to follow the path of his close friend, Mauricio Pochettino, by becoming the second Argentinean manager in the Premier League.

The former defender played with Valencia and Liverpool before becoming manager of Los Che in 2012.

Pellegrino has reportedly been sold on the south-coast club's infrastructure and ambitions to remain in the top half of the Premier League table.
